Basic recommendations for the care of decking

Anyone who owns a decking knows how quickly wooden planks get dirty, discolor, or break. It looks especially bad when the last snow has melted and it has become clear what winter has done.

What types of boards are there?

There are different types of decking. On the one hand, wood, aluminum, and WPC. Wooden floorboards are usually made of pine, Douglas fir, ash, Siberian larch, northern larch or oak. However, in some cases they are also made from tropical woods. WPC, on the other hand, is a mixture of 80% wood fibers and 20% plastic. The third option is aluminum flooring. They usually consist of an insertion system with a hollow chamber.

Decking treatment: varnish, azure or oil?

When it comes to decking maintenance, there are a lot of questions. In principle, we can say that wooden floorboards require special care. Wood is a natural product that develops defects when exposed to the sun, rain, and sudden temperature changes.

Azure treatment

In general, it is recommended to start care immediately after laying the boards. Azure does not make sense in the case of wooden terrace boards, as it wears off when walking on the terrace and therefore does not provide real protection.

Oil treatment

However, the use of special oils is very useful. You can use a special oil for terraces or buy an oil suitable for your type of wood. It is best to apply this oil evenly to the floorboards with a wide brush. Then the oil gradually penetrates deep into the wood and forms a protective layer against UV radiation and moisture. The natural resins contained in the oil harden and make it difficult for wood to be damaged.

You can wax the ends of the boards to protect them. The resin-like mass seals the wood and ensures that the boards do not crack at the ends.

You should repeat this procedure 1-2 times a year. It is better to wait for the phase of good weather, because it is important that the newly treated wood can dry. Pre-clean the boards with a brush or high-pressure cleaner (do not use cleaning products!) and let the wood dry, only after that you can apply oil. After 2 days, you can easily go back to your terrace.

Maintenance of wooden decking

If you chose tropical wood from the very beginning, it will be easier to care for it. Tropical wood is particularly hard and reacts significantly less to strong sunlight and humidity. However, even tropical wood needs some care. Just look at the tree after a while. If you see that it is gray and cracked, you should cover it with oil or varnish.

If you clean your flooring 1 or 2 times a year with simple lye, and then coat the dried wooden flooring with terrace oil, you prolong the life of the wood and at the same time protect it from discoloration and cracks.

Maintenance of the WPC decking

WPC decking is much less susceptible to contamination and damage from UV radiation and moisture. Here it is enough to wipe the floorboards with a brush and soapy water in the spring, with more severe contamination, a high-pressure cleaner helps. Do not use solvents here, they will stain the material.

Maintenance of aluminum flooring

It's just as easy to take care of aluminum flooring. Compared to WPC, they are even less susceptible to UV radiation, and moisture does not bother them much. If the aluminum is heavily contaminated, it can be treated with solvents without damaging the material. Real free porn movies https://exporntoons.net online porn USA, UK, AU, Europe.
